City Centre Motel Christchurch

About this place

City Centre Motel is a motel at 876 Colombo Street, Christchurch Central City, offering self-contained studios and apartments in a quiet garden setting.

### Units and facilities

The property offers studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartment-style units. Each apartment has a well-equipped kitchenette with a microwave and a smart TV with Netflix, and the motel provides complimentary unlimited WiFi. Some units also have a private balcony, a full kitchen or a spa bath, and hotplates and frying pans are available on request. Listed amenities include guest laundry, room service, breakfast, disabled access, internet for public use and a safety deposit box at reception.

Parking is a genuine advantage for a central address: the motel provides free on-site CBD parking and describes plenty of free off-street parking.

### Location

The Colombo Street site is roughly an eight-minute walk from the centre of Christchurch and a ten-minute walk to the bus terminal, with Christchurch International Airport about a fifteen-minute drive away. The motel lists itself as a few minutes' walk from Southern Cross Hospital, Forte Health Hospital, the Town Hall, Te Pae Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Centre and Christchurch Stadium.

### Suitability for business travellers and small groups

The walking distance to Te Pae and the Town Hall makes this a practical, mid-priced base for delegates attending conferences and exhibitions in the central city, without needing a car or transfers. Free parking suits those driving in from the regions. The mix of unit types works for individual business travellers in studios and for small teams or families sharing one- and two-bedroom apartments, while kitchenettes and guest laundry support longer stays such as multi-day training courses or project work.

Reception operates 9am to 6pm, seven days, with after-hours check-in available - useful for late-arriving flights. The motel operates year-round. Published nightly rates on the Tourism New Zealand listing are $160 to $200; credit card details are required to confirm bookings, and cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the 2pm check-in time on the arrival date or one night's accommodation is charged.

Rates, unit configurations and inclusions should be confirmed directly at the time of booking.
