Club Waimea is a large chartered club and function venue at 345 Queen Street, Richmond, near Nelson. Founded by local Richmond people seeking a friendly, sociable and community-minded gathering place, it has grown into one of the area's more substantial hospitality and events venues, with bars, dining and gaming facilities alongside dedicated function spaces.
For events, the club's large Main Hall can hold up to 350 people, supported by three function rooms and a large dining room seating up to 80. Hall hire includes a fully equipped stage, dressing rooms and a sound system with microphone, plus ample off-street parking, and catering can be arranged. Additional AV equipment such as a projector, laptop and microphone is available for hire, with discounted rates for members.
Meeting and event capability: With a 350-capacity hall, multiple function rooms, staging, in-house sound, on-site catering and bar service, Club Waimea is well equipped for conferences, seminars, exhibitions, awards dinners, weddings and community events, and can scale from smaller meetings up to large functions. Its Richmond location, generous parking and full facilities make it a capable Nelson venue for both business and social events in the Nelson–Tasman region.
