Cucina is a restaurant and bar in central Oamaru, at 1 Tees Street, offering a fusion of South American, Italian and Spanish flavours. It opened in 2016 and is owned by Yanina and Pablo, originally from Argentina, who set out to create a restaurant showcasing the flavours they grew up with.
The kitchen emphasises fresh local produce and supporting local business, and the menu accommodates vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diners. Cucina trades Monday to Saturday from the evening, with the kitchen usually closing around 9pm and staying open later when busy. It received a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice award in 2024.
With its distinctive cuisine and central location, Cucina is a good option for group dinners and informal functions for visitors to Oamaru and the Waitaki district.
