D'Urville Restaurant & Lounge is the dining and bar operation of Hotel d'Urville, a boutique hotel at 52 Queen Street in central Blenheim, Marlborough. The restaurant occupies the ground floor of the hotel's heritage building, with a separate downstairs lounge bar for drinks and cocktails.
The kitchen describes its style as local fare with a French twist, guided by a philosophy of letting seasonal, regional produce speak for itself; the wine list draws heavily on Marlborough. The restaurant serves Tuesday to Saturday, 4pm until late, with the lounge bar open Tuesday to Saturday, 5pm–9pm, for cocktails and wine. Guests with specific requests are invited to contact the hotel directly, and table bookings are taken online.
The building itself is of documented heritage significance. It was completed in 1923 as the Public Trust Office, designed by Wellington architect William Gray Young, and is one of the few Heritage New Zealand–listed buildings remaining in Blenheim. The Public Trust occupied the building until the mid-1990s, when Chris and Julia Knowles converted it into the present 11-room boutique hotel. Original features have been retained, including the bank's vault doors, now used as room entries, and the former bank manager's office, which now serves as the lounge bar.
As a small boutique hotel restaurant in a landmark heritage building, D'Urville suits smaller corporate dinners, incentive groups or conference delegations wanting an intimate, character-driven venue in the centre of Marlborough wine country, alongside its 10 hotel rooms for overnight stays.
