Dublin Bay Wānaka is a private 38-hectare property on the shores of Lake Wānaka, used as an exclusive outdoor event venue. It sits about ten minutes from Wānaka township and roughly five minutes from Albert Town.
The grounds offer 180-degree views across Lake Wānaka and the surrounding mountains, with complete seclusion from neighbouring properties. The site is largely a blank canvas — the venue welcomes marquees, structures and tipis of all types, so the layout is built to suit each event rather than fitted into an existing room.
Despite being an outdoor site, the practical services are in place: mains power, high-specification toilet facilities, an outdoor schist fire area and a high-spec container bar.
Dublin Bay runs a deliberately limited number of events each year, to preserve the grounds, protect the land and keep the venue exclusive. Organisers should plan well ahead and expect availability to be constrained.
The venue takes up to 100 guests. Event types include corporate retreats, team building, workshops, weddings, concerts, photoshoots and private celebrations.
For MICE purposes the fit is incentive travel, executive retreats, off-sites and high-end client hospitality — programmes where the setting is the point and where a smaller, curated group is being hosted. It is not a wet-weather-proof conference venue in its own right, so a marquee or structure plan matters. For indoor conference facilities in the district, see Queenstown venues.
