East Pier Hotel

East Pier Hotel is a beachfront hotel at 50 Nelson Quay in Ahuriri, a seaside suburb of Napier in Hawke's Bay. It opened in May 2015 and combines accommodation, an on-site restaurant and bar, and conference and function venues. It is about five minutes' drive from Napier Airport and two minutes from the CBD.

Accommodation

The hotel has 21 rooms: 16 studios (two accessible), three family units and two one-bedroom suites. Rooms have sea views, upstairs units are reached by lift, and most have super king beds that can be split into twin king singles.

Meeting and event spaces

Three venues are listed:

• Ocean Suite: up to 180 dinner, 200 theatre, 130 cabaret, 80 U-shape and 400 cocktail. A soundproof retractable wall splits it into two rooms.
• Breakwater Room: up to 70 dinner or theatre, 45 cabaret and 40 U-shape.
• Port Room: up to 60 dinner or theatre, 40 cabaret and 30 U-shape.

The hotel states conferences and banquets can seat up to 250 and cocktail functions up to 600. Conference catering packages include teas, coffee and a light buffet lunch, with tailored options on request. Hire fees are on application.

Dining and location

The on-site restaurant and bar, described by the hotel as award-winning, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with local produce and wines. The walking and cycling track passes the front door, free parking is provided for 59 cars on site with more nearby, and nearby beachfront reserves are used for team-building activities.
