Hastings Sports Centre is an indoor recreation and events facility at 503 Railway Road, Hastings, operated by Hastings District Council. It functions primarily as a sports venue, but the council makes it available for hire for large corporate events, national-level sporting competitions and tournaments, and smaller meetings and workplace functions.
Two main areas are offered for hire:
Two full-size casual courts are also available for walk-up play without a booking.
The scale and flat floor of the main hall make it well suited to exhibitions, trade displays, expos, large-format dinners and conference plenaries where a purpose-built conference room would be too small. The permanent grandstand is an advantage for events with a spectator or presentation element. The function room, with its built-in screen, audio and whiteboard, works as a self-contained meeting room or as a break-out space alongside a larger event in the hall.
The site sits on Railway Road on the Hastings city fringe, with on-site parking and ground-level access for load-in — practical considerations for exhibitors and event contractors.
Hastings Sports Centre is a straightforward, functional council facility rather than a dedicated conference centre. It is best matched to exhibitions, tournaments, community and corporate expos, and meetings or training sessions that need a simple, equipped room at a civic rate. Bookings are handled through Hastings District Council. Find more Hawke's Bay venues.
