Kokomo brings a modern coastal dining experience to central Christchurch, on Welles Street as part of The Welder precinct at numbers 20–26. It trades from early until late, covering brunch, lunch, after-work drinks and sit-down dinner, with a menu of modernised coastal cuisine.
The space is large and free-flowing, anchored by a big open bar at the street entrance and an open kitchen at the other end by the internal entrance from The Welder. The fit-out has a retro, beachy character — exposed wooden beams, vintage art reminiscent of seaside cottages, abundant natural light and lush greenery. Kokomo was the first venue in Christchurch to serve coffee from Wellington-based Flight Coffee.
With its generous footprint, all-day trading and central Welder location, Kokomo suits group brunches and dinners, informal functions and post-conference gatherings in the central city.
