The Lakeland Queen is a paddle-driven cruise vessel operating on Lake Rotorua from a dedicated jetty on the city's lakefront. Launched in 1986 and styled on Mississippi riverboats to suit the lake's shallow bed, she is described as New Zealand's only genuine stern-wheel, shallow-draft paddle boat.
The vessel operates breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee cruises as well as sightseeing, taking in scenery around Ohinemutu, Mokoia Island and the geothermal features of Sulphur Bay. Across two decks she can seat up to around 200 guests, supported by a fully equipped galley and two licensed bars.
The Lakeland Queen is well suited to corporate functions, conferences, meetings and private events afloat, combining catered dining with a moving lake cruise. Options range from morning coffee and breakfast through to lunch and dinner cruises, tailored for private groups.
For a memorable Rotorua incentive activity or corporate function with a genuine point of difference, a cruise aboard the Lakeland Queen offers dining, scenery and event capacity in one. Discover more Rotorua experiences.
