Merivale Manor

Merivale Manor is a boutique accommodation property at 122 Papanui Road in Merivale, roughly two kilometres north of the Christchurch central city and about ten minutes' drive from Christchurch International Airport. It offers 24 studios, suites and apartments across a heritage building and adjoining modern accommodation, and markets itself to short-stay, long-stay and corporate travellers.

History

The Manor House dates from 1882 and carries a heritage listing. It was restored in 2014 and now houses ten of the property's studios and suites. That heritage element distinguishes Merivale Manor from the many purpose-built motel developments along the Papanui Road corridor.

Location and MICE relevance

Merivale is one of Christchurch's established inner suburbs, with a concentrated shopping and dining strip within walking distance and Hagley Park nearby. The central city is around five minutes away by car. Papanui Road is a direct route to and from the airport, which makes the property convenient for delegates flying in.
