Millennium Hotel & Resort Manuels Taupō is a 4-star, 51-room lakefront resort at 243 Lake Terrace, Waipahihi, on the shores of Lake Taupō, New Zealand's largest lake. It suits leisure guests drawn to the lake and nearby Huka Falls, hot pools, golf and skiing, as well as groups holding residential conferences or incentive events in a resort setting.
The resort has 39 boutique guest rooms and 12 luxury suites (22-38 m²), including Standard Poolview and Lakeview rooms, Superior Twin and King Lakeview rooms, and Junior and Deluxe Junior Suites.
The resort has four conference spaces. The largest, Regency 1, is 130 m² with lake views and holds up to 120 guests; Regency 2 is 80 m² for up to 60 theatre-style; the two Regency rooms combined offer 210 m² for up to 140 guests; and a smaller Boardroom (26 m²) seats up to 10. Total delegate capacity across the venue is up to 190, with AV, sound and lighting equipment available — making it well suited to conferences, meetings and residential events.
On site, Edgewater Restaurant serves food using local produce with views across Lake Taupō, and the Lakefront Bar offers cocktails at sunset. The resort also has a heated swimming pool, sauna, gym, jacuzzi and tennis court.
The property traces back to a fishing lodge built in the 1930s, bought by Ron Lyne in October 1968, who developed it into the Manuels resort known for its old-style hospitality, including a formal three-course dinner announced by a gong. The original dining room has since been divided into what are now Beach 243 and the Edgewater Restaurant, with the resort operating today under the Millennium Hotels and Resorts group.
With its lakefront setting, four conference spaces holding up to 190 delegates, and on-site dining and recreation, Millennium Hotel & Resort Manuels Taupō is well suited to conferences, incentive programmes and residential events, alongside other Taupō venues.
