The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa is the national museum, on Wellington's waterfront at Cable Street, and one of the capital's premier event venues. Alongside its exhibitions, Te Papa offers a range of hireable spaces from intimate meeting rooms to halls for up to around 1,000 guests, supported by dedicated on-site technical support and catering.
Amokura Gallery provides around 894 m² of open, pillar-free floor space with natural light and harbour views, suited to large conferences, trade shows and banquets. Oceania, about 519 m² with access to a museum-size goods lift, is ideal for exhibition trade booths and can be divided into four areas to create a conference space with break-out rooms. The dramatic Wellington Foyer, set before the museum's huge circular window and The Void artwork, suits evening functions, and a private entrance leads to five versatile conference and meeting rooms around a central reception space.
Te Papa suits conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners, product launches, receptions and weddings, combining flexible professional spaces with a landmark waterfront setting. Discover more Wellington venues.
