The New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) is a purpose-built convention and events venue in central Auckland, at 101 Hobson Street, on Hobson and Nelson Streets next to the Sky Tower. It is owned and operated by SkyCity. Reported by 1News, the project cost about $750 million, had been in development since early works began in 2015, and was delayed by a major fire in 2019. The centre was scheduled to open on 11 February 2026.
The centre spans about 32,500 square metres over four floors and can host more than 4,000 delegates, according to media reports. The venue's website lists:
The venue states that spaces are flexible, with event planning support from concept through delivery, and that its design draws on Aotearoa New Zealand cultural traditions with a sustainability focus.
The NZICC lists partnerships with AIPC, ICCA and BEIA, and shows Qualmark Gold and EarthCheck Silver (2026) certifications on its website.
The centre sits in the Auckland CBD, in the SkyCity precinct, with dining and entertainment close by. The venue says about 8,000 hotel rooms are within walking distance.
With a large exhibition hall, a theatre and many breakout rooms in the heart of the city, the NZICC suits national and international conferences, trade shows, gala dinners and large corporate events. Organisers should confirm current availability, configurations and catering directly with the venue.
