Rangitāne Conference Centre — known as Ūkaipō — is a purpose-built function and conference venue at 1 Fell Street, Grovetown, near Blenheim in Marlborough. It was developed by Te Rūnanga a Rangitāne o Wairau Trust as both a meeting place and a showcase for Rangitāne culture and art, and opened in December 2012. The building stands on the site of the former Grovetown Hall, and its foyer incorporates the original hall's salvaged wooden floors; the name Ūkaipō honours the Kuia (aunties) who traditionally oversaw social events at the old hall.
The centre's facilities include a Main Hall that accommodates up to 200 people, or formal dining for up to 170 guests, plus two spacious, fully equipped meeting rooms and a boardroom set up for 12. A commercial kitchen and bar support catering, with flexible options allowing groups to self-cater, bring their own caterer, or have the venue manage catering. A sleeping area accommodates up to 35 people with shower and ablution facilities, allowing for residential-style use that is uncommon among comparable regional venues. The centre offers free wireless internet and wheelchair access throughout.
Set alongside a Marlborough vineyard with ample free on-site parking, Ūkaipō suits small to mid-sized meetings, conferences, weddings, cultural functions and community events, particularly those wanting a Marlborough wine-country setting or an overnight residential component thanks to its on-site sleeping accommodation.
