SO/ Auckland

SO/ Auckland is a 16-storey luxury design hotel at 67 Customs Street East, on the corner of Gore Street in Auckland's CBD. It is a few minutes' walk from Britomart station, the ferry terminals and Viaduct Harbour. The building formerly housed the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, and gold details throughout the interiors refer to that history. The hotel is part of the SO/ brand operated by Ennismore, and suits corporate groups, product launches and incentive programmes looking for a design-led city base.

Rooms and facilities

There are 130 rooms and suites: 109 bedrooms, 19 suites on the upper floors overlooking the Waitematā Harbour and city skyline, and two VIP suites, The Waitematā and The Treasury. Free-standing bathtubs are a feature of the rooms. Hotel guests have complimentary access to the SO/ WELL circuit, which includes a 20-metre heated indoor lap pool, jacuzzi, Finnish sauna and the 24-hour SO/ FIT gym. The SO/ Spa is located in the basement.

Meetings and events

Six meeting spaces sit in the basement level, with 231 square metres of meeting and common space. The largest, The Vault, is finished in marble, bronze and gold and holds up to 150 for a cocktail event, 145 theatre style or 110 banquet. The Grand Reserve (107 square metres, up to 85 theatre) combines 24 Carat and The Reserve, while 9 Carat, 18 Carat, 24 Carat and The Reserve suit training, board meetings and breakouts. Rooms include high-speed WiFi, air conditioning and adjustable lighting, with audio-visual equipment available at extra cost. For social functions, the Social Club Terrace is a private rooftop space for cocktail parties, networking and brand activations, and group lunches and dinners can be held at Harbour Society.
