The Taradale & District RSA is a licensed community club at 156 Gloucester Street in Taradale, Napier. It operates as a club first, with a restaurant, bar, games rooms and a wide set of member sections, and it also hires out function rooms.
Function rooms are available for both small and large events. The club lists weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, conferences, business meetings and club gatherings among the events it hosts, with catering provided on site. Combining an in-house kitchen with a fully licensed bar means a single supplier can cover a day meeting, lunch and an evening function.
The Bus Stop Eatery restaurant is family friendly and open seven days a week including public holidays, with a menu of Kiwi classics. You do not need to be a club member, or a current or former member of the services, to dine there. You do need a temporary or full membership to buy alcohol from the bar. The bar has 15 beers on tap plus craft beer, wine, RTDs and spirits. Bookings are recommended for groups of 10 or more.
Beyond the function rooms the club has pool, darts, snooker and indoor bowls, a TAB, gaming machines and board games, and runs a wine club, crib club, travel club, shooting club, concert party, women's section and social club. Annual membership is $40. The club is open from 10am until late seven days a week; the office runs 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
For business events, the Taradale RSA suits committee and branch meetings, training days, AGMs, association and club conferences, and end-of-year or awards dinners in Napier's western suburbs. It is a value-focused venue rather than a purpose-built conference centre, and the club does not publish room dimensions, capacities or audio-visual inventories online, so confirm layout, capacity and equipment directly when you enquire with the manager.
