Te Newhanga Kāpiti Community Centre is at 15 Ngahina Street in Paraparaumu, on the Kāpiti Coast about 50 minutes north of Wellington. It operates year-round as a community facility, with a set of meeting and function rooms hired out to community organisations, groups and businesses.
The centre offers a range of rooms at different scales. Two of the named spaces are:
Community rates start from around $10 per hour. Rates should be confirmed at the time of booking.
Free wi-fi is provided throughout, and the centre is set up as a safe, accessible place to meet. There is ample outside parking, free for up to four hours — a practical advantage over central-city venues where parking is often the first thing to go wrong on the day.
The office is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm, and bookings are made by phoning the centre.
The centre is used for meetings, social functions, seminars and expos. For meetings and events organisers, it is a straightforward, low-cost option on the Kāpiti Coast for board meetings, training sessions, workshops, community consultation and regional gatherings — particularly where a Wellington city venue would add unnecessary travel for coast-based attendees. It is not set up for large residential conferences; those are better matched to other Wellington venues.
