The Devon Hotel - A Heritage Hotel at 390 Devon Street East is New Plymouth's principal conference hotel. It combines 102 guest rooms with a purpose-built conference centre on a single site, which makes it one of the few Taranaki properties able to run a residential conference end to end — accommodation, plenary, catering and social programme without moving delegates off site.
Accommodation runs from studio units sleeping up to four through to suites with spa baths, spread across three buildings on three levels. The original hotel was built in 1972 and has been progressively developed since.

This is the core of the property. The Devon has 11 conference rooms and three landscaped gardens, and can cater for events of up to 550 guests. The range covers everything from small syndicate meetings and training rooms through to conventions, exhibitions, private dinners and awards nights.
The practical advantage for organisers is the combination of scale and co-location: a conference of several hundred can be plenaried, broken into concurrent streams, fed and accommodated on one site, with the gardens available for outdoor breaks, drinks receptions and ceremonies. That residential-conference capability is unusual outside the main centres.
Marbles Buffet Restaurant operates in-house seven nights a week, working from fresh, locally sourced produce. For conference organisers, an established buffet operation of that size simplifies delegate catering and removes the need for external caterers on multi-day programmes.
The hotel sits on New Plymouth's main street. It is roughly a three-minute drive from Pukekura Park, about 500 metres from the Coastal Walkway and foreshore, under a kilometre from the city centre and about 12 minutes from New Plymouth Airport. That gives an incentive or partner programme immediate access to Taranaki's gardens, coastal walking and arts attractions.
The default choice for conferences and conventions in Taranaki, and equally capable for gala dinners, exhibitions, training programmes and weddings. Its scale, on-site catering and pool and garden facilities also make it viable for incentive groups wanting a single-site base.
