The Kollective — known locally as TK — is a co-working and meeting facility at 145 Seventeenth Avenue in Tauranga, opposite St John and directly across the road from the Historic Village. It is described as New Zealand's largest co-working space, and it is dedicated specifically to not-for-profit, charitable and social enterprise organisations, bringing them together under one roof for connection, shared learning and practical collaboration. A number of professional firms and health organisations also work from the building.
The Kollective has meeting and conference rooms in three sizes, taking a maximum of 5, 20 and 50 people respectively. That range covers a small interview or one-to-one meeting, a workshop or training group, and a full-day seminar or AGM.
All rooms have large digital displays. The conference rooms are also fitted with Logitech webcams with built-in microphones, so hybrid and fully remote sessions can be run without bringing in additional equipment — useful for boards and trusts with members spread across the region or the country.
The space operates Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm, with after-hours access by arrangement.
This is a practical day-meeting venue rather than a function or banquet space. It suits board meetings, trustee hui, staff training, funder briefings, workshops and small seminars, particularly for community-sector organisations — the building's purpose. There is no accommodation on site, so it would form the working part of a programme rather than host a residential conference, but the Seventeenth Avenue location is close to the CBD and to Historic Village catering and cafes. For larger plenary or dinner requirements, organisers would pair it with other Tauranga venues.
