The Metrotel is a modern motel at 22 Gill Street, in the heart of the New Plymouth CBD. It is one of the newer motel developments in the city and trades on location: guests can walk to the central business district in about five minutes, and to a wide range of restaurants, bars and offices from the door.
Accommodation is studio-style and self-contained, with kitchen facilities in the rooms. Standard inclusions are:
Check-in is from 3.00pm and check-out is 10.00am.
The Metrotel does not have conference or meeting rooms and does not operate as an event venue. Its place in a MICE programme is as central delegate accommodation — a walkable base for people attending a conference, exhibition or corporate event at a venue elsewhere in New Plymouth. The self-contained studio format also suits contractors, project teams and anyone on a longer stay who wants kitchen facilities.
For organisers, the practical benefits are the CBD address, on-site parking and the ability to house delegates within walking distance of central meeting venues and evening dining, removing the need for shuttles.
Gill Street sits centrally, with the Te Rewa Rewa Bridge and the Coastal Walkway a short drive away and the city's dining and retail immediately at hand.
A practical, modern accommodation option for delegates and business travellers in central New Plymouth. Meetings, catering and functions will need to be booked at a dedicated venue.
