Location

The Reef is close to Bayfair Shopping Centre and the shops of the Mount Mainstreet, with Blake Park and Ōmanu Golf Course nearby. Tauranga city centre and Pāpāmoa Beach are both around a 10-minute drive.

Suitability for meetings and events

The Reef does not publish dedicated conference rooms, catering or AV, so it should be treated as group accommodation rather than a conference venue. Its MICE relevance lies in the size and layout of the apartments: two- and three-bedroom units with large living and dining areas, full kitchens and generous balconies work well for small teams sharing, and the site's published guest feedback includes a leadership team that used the apartments for a two-day retreat and workshop, describing the space as relaxed and roomy for conversations and planning.

That makes it a credible option for small executive retreats, board or leadership offsites, project teams on extended assignment, and incentive groups who want self-catering flexibility and a beachfront setting. The year-round heated pools mean the property works outside the summer peak, which is useful for shoulder-season programmes. Organisers needing formal plenary space, delegate catering or AV would pair it with a dedicated venue among Bay of Plenty venues.
