The Trade Union Rooms are a small meeting space at 2 Lipton Place in Onekawa, an industrial and light-commercial suburb on the southern side of Napier. The rooms appear on Napier City Council's published list of halls, venues and conference rooms available for hire in the city, and are operated by the local trade union centre rather than the council.
The facility is a single carpeted room seating 30 people theatre style. It has a small kitchen fitted with a microwave for preparing tea, coffee and light refreshments. There is no in-house catering or dedicated audiovisual fit-out listed, so hirers should plan to bring their own equipment and arrange catering separately if required.
The Trade Union Rooms suit small meetings, committee sessions, training courses, briefings and community or union gatherings of up to about 30 people. Onekawa's location gives easy vehicle access and off-street parking away from the congestion of the Napier CBD, which is useful for daytime meetings where delegates are driving in. Organisers needing larger capacity, conference AV or on-site catering should look at other Napier venues.
