Victory Community Centre (Te puna hauora o Wairepo) is a community hub at 2 Totara Street in Toi Toi, Nelson. It grew out of community-led work in the Victory neighbourhood dating back to the early 1990s, and opened in 2007 as the Victory Community Health Centre, sharing a purpose-built facility with Victory Primary School. It was renamed Victory Community Centre in 2014, and in 2025 the organisation moved from an incorporated society to a charitable trust.
Hire is tiered, with separate hourly, four-hour and eight-hour rates for government/corporate, non-profit/small business/private, and community/volunteer bookings. A bond may be charged. Because the hall is shared with the school, it is available from 3.00pm to 10.30pm on weekdays during term time, and from 7.30am to 10.30pm at weekends and during school holidays; the meeting room is available from 7.30am to 10.30pm each day. Availability for both spaces is published on online calendars, and bookings are made through a request form.
For meetings, training days and workshops, the pairing of a 150-seat theatre-style hall with projector and sound system plus a smaller breakout room covers most day-programme formats, and the community rates keep costs down for not-for-profit organisers. The term-time weekday start of 3.00pm is worth planning around for full-day events. See more Nelson venues.
