Exhibition & Display Services (EDS) is an exhibition furniture and display hire company operating from a warehouse at 38 Matheson Street, Virginia, in northern Brisbane. It is an Australian owned and operated family business that dates its founding to the late 1980s in North Brisbane, and it supplied some of its first services to World Expo 88. Since then it has hired equipment to established Queensland exhibitions, trade shows, events and art shows.
### Ownership and history
The business was founded by Terry Worthington in 1988. His son, Tim Worthington, is the current Managing Director and has been involved in the industry since the age of 15, moving from installing expos as a teenager to leading installations across Queensland in the early 2000s. In 2006 he took the role of Installation Manager at Skyline Whitespace in London, working on projects for clients including GE Money and Conrad Hotels, and on returning to Australia he broadened the business towards corporate art, custom expo stand design and quality furniture hire. Following Terry's retirement in 2012 the company moved to larger premises and expanded its services. Tim remains hands-on at shows.
### Services and products
EDS offers complete exhibition booth packages that include walling, fascia and signage, lighting, floor coverings and power. Its wider service list covers event furniture hire, display panel hire and sales, exhibition booth hire and booth upgrades, custom exhibition stand hire, logo-branded options, custom expo signage, and school event installations. Flooring is a distinct line, with carpet tiles and rolled carpet delivered and installed across South East Queensland. Modular walling is available in white Octanorm or reusable black fabric.
Art exhibitions are a specialist strand: the company hires black fabric or white display walling, high-impact LED lighting, display plinths in a range of sizes for sculpture, and professional gallery-grade picture hanging systems.
### Coverage and clients
The company services Brisbane and surrounding areas including the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and regional South East Queensland, with delivery and installation quoted to suit. Work it cites includes the fine art display at the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) and Tattersall's annual Rotary Art Spectacular, and the site states it has been trusted by over 3,000 clients, listing organisations including Mitre 10, Snack Brands, Australia Zoo, Lockheed Martin and Ekka.
### Relevance for event organisers
EDS works directly with both exhibitors and event organisers, with senior management overseeing all orders from the Brisbane warehouse. For conference and exhibition organisers running an event in South East Queensland it is a single point of contact for shell scheme, furniture, flooring, signage and lighting, as well as booth upgrade options that can be sold on to exhibitors. Enquiries are made by phone or through the contact form, and the company publishes a frequently asked questions document covering hire terms.
