Cordis Auckland is a five-star hotel of 640 rooms and suites on Vincent Street, in Auckland's upper Queen Street / Aotea precinct. It is within walking distance of Auckland Museum, the Auckland Art Gallery and Aotea Square, and around a kilometre from the Sky Tower.
The tower opened as the Sheraton Auckland in 1987. Following a substantial renovation it was rebranded The Langham in 2005, then became Cordis, Auckland in 2017 under the Langham Hospitality Group (a Great Eagle Holdings company). The rebrand history makes it a notable example of a single Auckland tower passing through several international hotel brands.
Cordis Auckland offers around 20 event venues totalling roughly 33,528 sq ft (about 3,100 sqm) of function space. The Great Room is one of the largest pillarless ballrooms in New Zealand, seating up to 860 guests banquet-style or 1,150 theatre-style, and can be divided into four separate spaces of 200 to 440 square metres. The Crystal Room, with its own foyer and stage, holds up to 200 for a banquet or 300 theatre-style. Smaller options include the 120 sqm Vista Room on the 10th floor (divisible, up to 100 guests), the Gallery Rooms (30-90 sqm, with floor-to-ceiling windows and built-in projection screens), and purpose-built boardrooms with interactive touchscreen displays. Each event is supported by a dedicated Events Executive and an in-house audiovisual team, and the scale and flexibility of the space make the hotel suitable for residential conferences as well as large-scale dinners and exhibitions.
In-house outlets include Eight, an interactive restaurant built around eight specialist show kitchens each dedicated to a different cuisine; the Chandelier Lounge, known for its High Tea service in partnership with TWG; and Our Land is Alive, the hotel's bar showcasing New Zealand food and drink. Wellness facilities include a heated rooftop pool and spa pool, a Health Club gym with free weights and cross-training equipment, and Chuan Spa, which draws on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and offers massage, facials, saunas and a herbal steam room.
With its scale of accommodation, one of the city's largest ballroom capacities, and a central Aotea-precinct location, Cordis Auckland is well suited to major conferences, incentive groups and corporate stays that need both meeting space and easy access to Auckland's cultural and civic quarter.
