Rodney Green Arenas — known for many years as Pettigrew Green Arena — is Hawke's Bay's largest indoor sport and event centre, located at 480 Gloucester Street in Taradale, Napier. The original arena opened in April 2003 and is operated by the Regional Indoor Sports and Events Centre Trust; a $20 million expansion, the Rodney Green Foundation Arena, opened alongside it in February 2023, and the combined complex is now marketed as Rodney Green Arenas.
The venue offers nine multi-sport indoor courts for basketball, netball, futsal and other codes, pickleball courts, a 24/7 gym with virtual Les Mills classes, a board room, conference rooms and the Lady Pettigrew Theatre. The main Pettigrew Green Arena court seats up to 2,500 people, giving the complex genuine large-scale event capacity alongside its smaller meeting and function spaces.
Beyond its role as home to the Hawke's Bay Hawks basketball team and host of representative volleyball, basketball and netball, the arena has held major sporting fixtures including an ANZ Championship netball match in 2008, plus concerts, expos, conferences and balls. With around 511,723 visits and 6,240 games a year, Rodney Green Arenas is a well-used, high-capacity venue for conferences, exhibitions, gala dinners and large-scale corporate or community events in the Hawke's Bay region.
