The Langlands Hotel is a seven-storey, 4.5-star hotel on the corner of Dee and Don Streets in central Invercargill. It opened in 2022 and is about a 10-minute drive from Invercargill Airport. With its own meeting rooms, several dining and bar venues and contemporary rooms, it suits corporate meetings, regional conferences and incentive groups visiting Southland.
The hotel has 78 air-conditioned rooms, many with city views and balconies. Rooms include a work desk, a flat-screen TV, New Zealand-made toiletries and artwork by local artists. There is also a fitness centre for guests.
The hotel's food and drink venues include:
Catering for meetings and events is led by Head Chef Khaled Alanati, and menus can be tailored for each event.
The main function space is Puaka, a first-floor room seating up to 110 theatre-style. Puaka can be split into two private rooms: Waitī for up to 50 and Waitā for up to 60. The names come from stars associated with Matariki and the Māori New Year; Waitī is linked to fresh water and Waitā to food gathered from the sea. Breakout space is available during the day, and the events team can tailor packages for meetings, presentations, product launches and private functions.
The Langlands is well suited to conferences and seminars of up to 110, split-room training days, board meetings and cocktail receptions in the rooftop bar. It also works for incentive groups who want a central Invercargill base with several dining options in the hotel itself.
