The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre

The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre is a Qualmark-rated hotel and dedicated conference venue at 10-20 Gladstone Road in the inner-city suburb of Parnell, Auckland. It is set on about 3.5 acres of grounds and is within reach of Parnell Village, the Auckland Domain and Auckland Museum, Newmarket, Auckland Hospital, the University of Auckland and Spark Arena. It suits conference organisers who need meeting space and delegate accommodation on one site, with free parking.

Rooms and facilities

The hotel has 101 rooms and apartments, ranging from hotel-style rooms and studios to one- and two-bedroom apartments, some with kitchenettes and balconies. Many north-facing rooms look across to the Viaduct Harbour and the city centre. Rooms are air-conditioned with free Wi-Fi, and free on-site parking is available subject to availability.

Meetings and events

The conference centre has eight air-conditioned, naturally lit rooms that can be combined in different ways, with capacity from 3 to 300 delegates theatre style, or up to 140 banquet style. The main spaces are:

• Discovery (154 m²): up to 140 guests
• Endeavour (165 m²): up to 140 guests
• Discovery & Endeavour combined (319 m²): up to 260 guests
• Private Brasserie & Victoria combined (120 m²): up to 100 guests
• Victoria (60 m²): up to 60 guests
• Private Brasserie (60 m²): up to 40 guests
• Gladstone Three, Disraeli and Gladstone One: smaller rooms of 30 to 45 m² for 20 to 25 guests

The in-house team provides conference catering, including morning and afternoon teas, buffet lunches and dinners. The venue is a member of Business Events Industry Aotearoa.

Dining

Gladstones Café Restaurant, housed in a historic Gladstone Road house, serves contemporary food with indoor and outdoor seating and doubles as a space for post-meeting drinks.

A charitable venue

The Parnell Hotel & Conference Centre is a registered charity under the Charities Act 2005. Its surpluses support community, health and research organisations in New Zealand. The hotel has also made the Tiaki Promise and holds Qualmark sustainability recognition.

The venue is a practical choice for residential conferences, training programmes, association meetings, AGMs and gala dinners of up to around 260 guests seated, where on-site accommodation and parking matter.
