Queenstown venues that seat 150 or more guests banquet-style for gala dinners and awards nights, ranked live by banquet capacity.
Queenstown is New Zealand's incentive and celebration capital, and a gala dinner here comes with a backdrop few destinations can match — the Remarkables, the lake and a concentration of hotels, wineries and alpine venues built for hosting. For a mid-sized gala, awards night or conference dinner of around 150 guests and up, the task is finding a room that seats everyone at round tables with space for a stage, dance floor and service.
The ranking below draws live from the MICE directory and lists Queenstown venues with banquet seating for 150 or more guests, ordered by capacity, so the rooms that genuinely fit a seated dinner at scale come first. Open any venue to check its layout, catering, AV and views, or browse the full venues directory for the region.
Banquet capacity depends heavily on table size, staging and a dance floor, so use the list to plan and confirm the true seated layout directly with the venue. MICE keeps one national record of New Zealand's event spaces, so a Queenstown gala shortlist compares cleanly with Auckland, Wellington and anywhere else in the running.

The ranking lists Queenstown venues by banquet seating for 150 or more guests, largest first. Confirm the precise seated figure with the venue, as it changes with table size and staging.
Banquet capacity is for seated dining at round tables, while theatre capacity is for rows of chairs facing a stage. A room's banquet number is almost always lower than its theatre number.
The banquet figure shown is a maximum; adding a stage, dance floor or AV will reduce it. Always confirm the working layout for your run sheet with the venue.
Many of the larger gala venues are hotels or resorts with rooms on site, which suits residential conferences and incentives. Check each listing for accommodation.
