Bay Court Lakefront Motel

Bay Court Lakefront Motel sits at 104 Lake Terrace, directly across the road from Lake Taupō and about a kilometre from the town centre. It is a 12-unit, smoke-free motel over three levels, with a listed maximum capacity of 50 guests. The top floor is reached by stairs only, while several units sit on the ground floor.

• Lake View Apartment — the largest unit at over 80 square metres, on the first floor with private access and 180-degree lake views. Three different room configurations, so it works for a couple or a family.
• Deluxe Suite — king bed, double-sized spa bath, air conditioning and a balcony with partial lake views. There are four of these suites, all on the top floor and accessed by stairs.
• Standard Spa Suite — first floor, queen bed plus sofa bed and a single bed, with a spa bath large enough for two.
• Family Spa Suite — ground floor with no steps, two TVs and a large spa bath.
• Accessibility Suite — ground floor near the car parks, with a low entry ramp, wide path through the kitchenette, fully tiled bathroom with walk-in shower, full-height toilet and hand rails. Queen bed plus sofa bed.
• Standard Suite — queen bed, sofa bed and single bed with kitchenette. Two on the ground floor and two on the first floor.

Units have kitchen or kitchenette facilities, 42-inch TVs with Netflix and dedicated high-speed internet — worth noting for anyone needing to work in-room. Other listed facilities include barbecue, guest laundry, breakfast available, luggage storage, a safety deposit box at reception and free on-site parking.

Meetings and events

Bay Court does not have a conference or meeting room. It is straightforward delegate and crew accommodation for conferences, sporting events and functions held elsewhere in Taupō, and the mix of spa suites, standard suites and a large apartment covers everything from a single business traveller to a group sharing.

Location

The lakefront is immediately opposite, and the Taupō town centre, its restaurants and the main event precinct are about a 10-minute walk or one kilometre north along Lake Terrace. Taupō Airport is roughly 5km away. Tongariro National Park, Huka Falls and the geothermal attractions are all within comfortable driving range for pre- or post-conference activity.
