Cameron Road Motel

Cameron Road Motel

Cameron Road Motel is a self-contained motel at 1229 Cameron Road, Gate Pa, Tauranga, in the Bay of Plenty. It formerly traded as Cameron Thermal Motel. The property sits in the heart of Greerton Village, close to local cafes and shops, and is described by the operator as a choice for couples, groups, families and business travellers. It carries a self-rated 3.5-star classification.

### Accommodation

The motel can accommodate up to 62 guests depending on sleeping arrangements. Unit types are:

• Queen Studio — sleeps up to 2, aimed at the single traveller or couple.
• Superior Studio — sleeps up to 3, with a queen bed and a single; a roll-away bed can be added for a child on request.
• King Studio — sleeps up to 3, with a king bed and a single.
• One Bedroom — sleeps up to 3, with a queen bed in a separate bedroom and a single in the living room.
• Superior Family Unit — sleeps up to 5, with a queen bed in the lounge and a queen plus single in the bedroom.

Studios have a separate kitchenette with cooking facilities, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. The one-bedroom and family units have full kitchens with an oven. All units have complimentary tea and coffee, flat-screen or smart TVs with more than 50 Sky channels, heating (heat pumps in several unit types), hairdryers, irons and ironing boards, and outdoor seating. Rooms are serviced daily.

### Facilities

The property has an outdoor heated pool, outdoor spa pools and a sauna. The pool is closed during June, July and August. The sauna can be booked at reception in fifteen-minute intervals at no charge. There is a children's playground and trampoline on site, ample parking with room for trailers, and a laundromat within walking distance. Ultra-fast wi-fi is available across the property.

### Business and group travel

The motel actively targets the corporate and group market. It offers special rates for regular business guests, package deals for groups, and has charge-back arrangements set up with a number of restaurants in town, which simplifies expense handling for a travelling team. Wireless broadband is available on the property under the TrafficMate service.

### Suitability for MICE

Cameron Road Motel is an accommodation property rather than a conference venue — no dedicated meeting or function rooms are advertised. Its role in the MICE mix is as delegate accommodation and as a base for business travellers, project teams and sporting or interest groups visiting Tauranga. The capacity of up to 62 guests across a range of unit sizes makes it workable for a small group booking, and in-unit kitchens suit longer or repeat stays. Organisers needing meeting space would pair a stay here with a nearby hired venue.

The Gate Pa and Greerton location places it near the Tauranga Racecourse, the RSA, a bowling club, and the Greerton Aquatic and Leisure Centre, with the Tauranga, Oropi and Mount Maunganui golf courses also nearby — useful context for an incentive or social programme. Rooms can be booked directly through the motel's own booking system.
