About Dunedin Holiday Park

Dunedin Holiday Park & Motels occupies 41 Victoria Road in St Kilda, directly alongside St Kilda Beach and about four minutes' drive from the Dunedin city centre. A regular bus service runs from a stop at the gate, and the site connects to Dunedin's city cycleway. It is a large, mixed-use park rather than a motel: motel units, self-contained units, a lodge, cabins and camping sites all share the one set of grounds.

Accommodation

The accommodation range is unusually broad. Motel units come in three-bedroom (sleeping six), two-bedroom (sleeping four, five or six) and studio configurations, including a king-bed studio for two. Two-bedroom self-contained units sleep between four and seven. Ensuite units sleep four or five. The Lodge is a 12-bedroom building where each room has its own ensuite, and it accommodates up to 50 guests — the single most useful fact here for anyone booking a team, crew or delegation. Cabins range from small basic cabins for two through TV cabins sleeping three to five and large standard cabins for up to six, and there are powered and unpowered sites for campervans, caravans and tents.

Motel units are fully self-contained, with a full kitchen, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee, a lounge with TV and heater, beds made up with linen and electric blankets, and optional daily servicing.

Facilities

The park provides free unlimited guest Wi-Fi across the grounds from a recently installed system, free guest parking including space for oversized vehicles, and upgraded shower and toilet blocks with hot showers at no extra cost, underfloor heating in the main block, hairdryers and accessible bathrooms. The guest laundry has eight coin-operated washing machines and eight dryers plus an iron and ironing board. Communal kitchens are fitted with full-size ovens and stovetops, microwaves, toasters, kettles, fridges and freezers, with large dining areas attached. There are three free electric BBQs beside the kitchens, a TV lounge with SKY TV and a book exchange, a children's playground with trampoline and swings, and a free dump station for guests. A camp store, takeaways and a bus stop sit immediately outside the gate.

For group and event bookings

The park explicitly caters to groups. Alongside the Lodge, a private kitchen and dining area can be reserved for large group bookings at certain times of year — reception confirms availability. The park also states that it partners with the Edgar Centre on Portsmouth Drive, one of Dunedin's main indoor sports and events venues, and points to its proximity and group-friendly facilities as the reason teams, event attendees and supporters use it.

There is no conference or meeting room, so this is not a venue for a seated programme. What it does offer is scale and flexibility: a workable base for sports tournaments, school and community groups, film or contracting crews, and event overflow where a single site needs to absorb a large number of people at a range of price points. For delegates who want to be in the middle of the CBD, other Dunedin accommodation will suit better.
