Lodge Bordeaux

Lodge Bordeaux is a Qualmark 5 Star luxury lodge at 361 Western Hills Drive, Whāngārei, positioned within walking distance of the Whāngārei CBD, restaurants, tourist attractions and the city's conference facilities. It is pitched squarely at the discerning traveller and the executive corporate market, which makes it a natural fit for senior delegates, speakers and small incentive groups rather than large plenary groups.

Accommodation

The lodge has 15 rooms. Rooms are appointed with king-sized beds, double spa baths, underfloor heating and quality furnishings and linens. Many are self-contained with a full kitchen, and some rooms have their own balcony or patio. All rooms include a well-stocked minibar of non-alcoholic beverages and free unlimited WiFi.

Grounds and facilities

The property sits in landscaped grounds featuring a seasonally heated swimming pool, a pétanque court and a barbecue area. Other guest services include café-style cooked or continental breakfasts, dual electric vehicle charging, electric bikes for hire, and laundry services. Reception is open 7.30am to 9.30pm, seven days.

Meetings and events

Lodge Bordeaux does not market a dedicated conference or meeting room. Its role in the MICE mix is as premium delegate and executive accommodation — a quiet, high-specification base for VIPs, board members, keynote speakers and small incentive parties attending events held at Whāngārei's nearby conference venues. At 15 rooms it can also be taken as a whole-property buyout for a small executive retreat or intimate group stay, with the pool, barbecue area and pétanque court giving informal networking space. Contracted rates and terms for conferences, conventions and special events are available on request.

Getting there

The lodge is just over two hours from Auckland and about 1.25 hours from the Bay of Islands, making it a practical overnight stop on a Northland programme as well as a Whāngārei-based option.
