Tāhuna Beach Holiday Park sits at 70 Beach Road, Tahunanui, about 4.5 km from central Nelson and directly adjacent to the long sands of Tahunanui Beach. It is one of the larger accommodation operations in the Nelson region and, unusually for a holiday park, it runs a purpose-built conference and events centre alongside the camping and motel accommodation.
The park offers a broad and deliberately affordable range: powered and non-powered camping sites, cabins, studios, one- and two-bedroom motel units, and a four-bedroom beach house. Reported bed capacity across the park is around 400.
The on-site Beachside Conference and Events Centre is a multi-purpose function centre with several room options. Industry listings record four meeting rooms totalling approximately 319 m² of event space, with capacity for up to around 360 people. There is ample coach and car parking, and on-site caterers.
That combination — several hundred beds and a multi-room function centre on the same site, beside a beach — makes it a genuine residential-conference option at a price point well below a city hotel. It is used for corporate and community functions, weddings and private parties.
The park was established in 1926 and was renovated in 1996.
On site there is a café, mini golf, pedal karts, five playgrounds, a mega bouncer, a mega swing and a flying fox, plus kitchen, bathroom and laundry blocks and TV lounges. For incentive groups, staff days and club or association conferences, those activity facilities are a useful built-in social programme rather than an afterthought.
